Surprise Visit!

// August 27th, 2009 // No Comments » // family

This past Sunday (the 23rd) we were able to meet up in ATL with Jen’s cousin Tashara. She was in town from Houston for the weekend for a conference, so we jetted down to the city after church and met her at the Hyatt (her hotel) for an hour or so before she needed to head to the airport. It was a quick, but fun, visit!

And We’re Back in the Game!

Jen and I ran the North Gwinnett HS Bulldog Dash 5K on Saturday, August 15th. This was Jen’s first run post-baby and she did great! We ran the whole way, and enjoyed some Rita’s frozen ice afterwards. Yes, they were giving out small sizes afterwards. Yes, it was like 9:30 in the morning. And yes, it was good! It was also funny for Jen to reminisce on this race because she took part in the inaugural 5K like 12 yrs ago when she was a Sophomore at NGHS.

Olivia’s Dedication

// August 27th, 2009 // No Comments » // olivia

On Sunday, August 9th we had Olivia dedicated during the 9:30 service at our church. We wanted to express our gratitude towards God and promise to our church that we would raise her up according to God’s word and His ways. All of our family and friends were able to join us (and the yummy lunch at Taco Mac afterwards)!

Things that Ibia Enjoys

// August 27th, 2009 // No Comments » // family, olivia, sophia

Sophia calls Olivia “Ibia”, so sometimes that is what we call her! Here are a couple things that Olivia has enjoyed lately:

“Playing” with her big sister

Bath time with Mommy (and don’t forget Miss Thang, aka Sophia)

Swim Lessons at the Y

// August 27th, 2009 // No Comments » // sophia

We were able to put Sophia through swim lessons at the Y this summer. She really enjoyed it! It was a 5-week course with 4-5 other kids/parents and she was able to make some progress in a few key areas: going underwater, being comfortable floating on her back, and paddling with her arms/feet. All in all, it was a fun time (and some good bonding time for me and my oldest daughter!)!

Something that Jen (and her Mommy friends) have been all about lately has been consignment sales. Not only do they enjoy getting to hang out, but they also find some great deals! There is a consignment sale coming up that we wanted to bring to your attention!

Olivia’s 2-Month Appointment

// August 4th, 2009 // No Comments » // olivia

We took Olivia to her 2-month appointment on Friday (7/31). Her pediatrician checked her out and she is doing really well-definitely growing a lot. She weighs 12 lbs, 12 oz. She is 24 inches long and has a 15-1/2 inch head. We were also both a little nervous as she had to get 5 shots (1 oral, 4 in the legs), but ultimately knew that they were for her best. Afterwards, she was a trooper (cried for maybe 15 seconds) and had a good rest of the day!
