Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Valencias! We had a fun New Year’s Eve/Day the other week. Other than the fact that my vacation was winding down, we enjoyed hanging out with family and friends! On New Year’s Eve, Jen and I went with Elyse and Daniel to see a concert (Derek Trucks Band) at the Fox Theater. Sophia, meanwhile, spent the evening and next morning with Mimi and Papi. She made her rounds and entertained people that night at the Montes’ New Year’s Eve party and then enjoyed a low-key morning at the house.

On New Year’s Day, we spent a little time at our house in the early afternoon and then headed over to Lolo and Lola’s house for dinner! After enjoying some fantastic filipino cuisine, and spending time with Uncle Eric before he headed back to Rhode Island (for Navy OCS), we headed home to savor the rest of the evening!

Christmas 2008

On Christmas Eve, we went to church for the 4:30 pm candlelight service, and then headed over to Mimi & Papi’s house for King’s Tacos and presents. Even though I lost the crown (only 8 tacos) this year, I gladly passed the torch to a deserving champion (Dad– like 13 tacos?). After that, we hung out and opened gifts!

The next morning we spent at our house so Sophia could experience an at-home Christmas morning. We came downstairs, opened gifts, had breakfast and enjoyed each other before heading over to Lola & Lolo’s house for gifts & lunch! After some tasty lobster and good company, we headed over to the Valencia extended family gathering to see everyone. Sophia had a good time and was a trooper the whole day!

We headed home, and ended up having dinner at our house with some college friends, and then called it a night! Here is a collection of pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2008.
