When You’re Missing What You Need…

// July 27th, 2008 // No Comments » // Friends, family, sophia

… just improvise! We didn’t have a high chair on Saturday at the Grandparent’s house, so we went old school!

We had a busy weekend! Thursday night we had some plans with old friends, so Sophia spent the night at Mimi & Papi’s. Friday night Jen and I had a date night so Sophia spent the night with Lola & Lolo. She loved both ’sleepovers’!. On Saturday, after picking her up from Jen’s parents and hanging out there for a little bit, we came back home, rested, and then went to have dinner with our friends Tara & Neal. It was a blast!

We often look back and laugh at the changes in life that the Lord has brought us through in just a little over two years! Running a marathon, family trips, moving into our first home, and now our beautiful baby girl! Even though life has certainly become busy, we try to continue to keep each other close and enjoy those moments together when we can exhale — praising God for the good times, the hard times, and His peace & mercy through them all.

9 Months… and Stinkin’ Cute!

Sophia turned 9 months old yesterday (7/9). And yes, she is stinkin’ cute! Time sure has flown by, and it just seems like yesterday when she was born at Northside Hospital. It is crazy how big she has gotten, and how much she has grown month by month. She is now pulling up on furniture, starting to feed herself, attempting to crawl up stairs, and expanding her vocabulary. She loves pooltime, “Daddy Days” (e.g. weekends), and meeting new friends. We are blessed to have a wonderful little girl!

MacGyver Baby

Well, we’re in the process of baby-proofing the home. We got some cabinet locks downstairs, toilet set locks on all the toilets, and have covered all the electrical outlets with plastic covers. Now that Sophia is crawling all over the place, and won’t stay still, she is starting to get more and more curious. Downstairs we have an armoire-type cabinet where we have our TV, electronics, DVDs, etc… and the bottom part is Sophia’s new playground. She is always crawling over there and opening up the pull out doors. So, as a quick-fix, we tried this out. However, it looks like she is dead-set on trying to figure something out.
